Who they are
Limoncello Charters is a small owner-operator on the Sorrento coast working exclusively on a private basis: no group departures, no individual seats, you take the whole boat with its crew. The site states neither a founding year nor a registered company name or address: the main contact is a WhatsApp number, backed by an iMessage line and a hotmail address. That is the classic profile of a family-run business, and the reviews bear it out by naming the same people over and over: captains Daniele and Orazio, and Natalia, who looks after guests on board.
This structure has a practical upside and a practical cost. Replies come fast and the itinerary flexes, but there is no office to report to and no VAT registration on display. If seeing the company details before you send a deposit matters to you, ask for them by message.
Where they leave from and how to get there
The boarding point is not fixed: the operator offers Sorrento, Piano di Sorrento, Capri, Positano, Amalfi or another agreed spot. That is a genuine convenience if you are not staying in Sorrento, since it saves crossing the peninsula at dawn.
From Sorrento the pick-up is almost always at Marina Grande, the old fishermen's quarter below the town: you walk down from the old centre, and driving makes little sense because the village is closed to through traffic. From Positano boarding is at the Spiaggia Grande jetties, below the main stairway; from Amalfi it is at the harbour mole, a short walk from the cathedral square.
With four different hulls you pick the boat to suit the day, rather than the other way round.
The fleet
Four boats, each named on the site with its model and size. The largest is a Conam 46 Sport, a 46-foot motor yacht; then two 36-foot boats, the Genesi 930 and the Sorrento 36, both listed for eleven passengers; and a 28-foot Sparviero gozzo, the most traditional option and the best suited to a slow day between the coves.
That is a wider choice than many competitors who run a single hull can offer: the gozzo for two people and an unhurried day, the Conam for a larger group or for reaching Capri when the sea is not perfectly flat. Capacities for the two smaller boats are not specified, and the version sold through booking platforms is capped at eight guests.
Tours and prices
The price list is published in full and always quoted per boat, not per person. Prices from the official website: private sea transfer 449 euro; full day on the Sorrento coast 940 euro; a day at Positano 990 euro; a day at Capri 990 euro; Capri and Positano together 1,190 euro; the Amalfi Coast 1,290 euro. Alongside the tours sit six themed experiences, from a marriage proposal set-up to a photo service or a sunset aperitif, between 349 and 449 euro.
Through booking platforms the same operator sells a private Capri tour with a limoncello tasting at USD 1,522.20 per group of up to eight, for eight hours. The price covers fuel, insurance, towels, snorkelling gear, drinks, snacks, fruit, prosecco, limoncello and Wi-Fi; lunch, usually at one of the Nerano trattorias, is not included.
Booking and cancellation
You book through the form on the website with a deposit paid by PayPal or card, or by writing on WhatsApp or iMessage. The published cancellation terms are stricter than the industry norm: free until seven days before, 50 per cent of the deposit withheld between seven and two days, and the full deposit withheld inside 48 hours or for a no-show. Weather cancellations are free. The deposit amount is not stated anywhere, so ask before you confirm.

The recurring themes are consistent. Captains Daniele and Orazio and hostess Natalia are named as warm and attentive, and their knowledge of the coast is described as what makes the day. The boats are called clean and modern; snacks, drinks and the home-made limoncello appear in almost every review; the swimming and snorkelling stops are well rated. Practical help before and during the trip also comes up often: restaurant bookings, photographs taken by the crew, quick replies in the days beforehand.
No recurring criticism emerged in the sample we read - every review we saw carried the top score. That is a good sign, but read it for what it is: a young profile with modest volumes compared with the coast's large operators.
