Who they are
Chic and Fabulous s.r.l., VAT number 06163570655, works a little differently from its neighbours: no office on a quay, an online reservation system, and pick-up wherever the guest happens to be. They rent boats with and without a skipper, and under the same name also run an events agency and a scooter rental business. Worth knowing, because reviews blend all three services together.
One piece of geography needs correcting straight away: the company is not based in Salerno. It works the Maiori-Amalfi-Ravello side of the coast, with Salerno as one of its pick-up points, and its TripAdvisor listing is filed under Ravello, in keeping with its ravello.top email domain.
The website has a quirk of its own: the root address returns an empty page, while the internal rental pages open normally. Those are the pages we read the fleet and prices from.
Erchie and the coves east of Maiori: the least crowded stretch of coast, and reachable even on a 40 hp boat.
Where they leave from
There is no single quay. The meeting points listed on the product pages are Maiori harbour, plus Amalfi, Positano, Praiano and Minori; the website adds Salerno among the skipper pick-up locations. It is a convenient arrangement if you are staying in the smaller towns, where almost no operator keeps a base.
Maiori has the practical advantage of a flat promenade and parking that is cheaper than Amalfi or Positano: if you are arriving by car, it is the least stressful boarding point on the whole coast. SITA buses stop on the main road a minute from the beach.
The fleet
Six boats, all recent, and that is the most striking fact here. CF Lilan is from 2026, 9.60 metres, 500 hp, eight seats. CF Positano is a Positano Open 38 gozzo from 2023, 11.50 metres, 740 hp, ten seats. CF Blue is from 2023, 7.90 metres, 300 hp, four seats. Then the three small 40 hp boats, the ones you can rent without a licence: CF Grace from 2025, 6.50 metres, six seats; CF Joy from 2024, 5.85 metres, six seats; CF Hope from 2026, 5.50 metres, five seats.
On a coast where plenty of rental dinghies are ten years old, an entire fleet built between 2023 and 2026 is a serious argument, and the reviews back it up with talk of full equipment: masks, a GoPro, a speaker and a freshwater shower.
Tours and prices
Prices from the official website, all in euros and per boat.
Self-drive rental, full day: CF Hope EUR 270, CF Joy EUR 290, CF Grace EUR 330. Skippered coastal tour, branded "La Dolce Vita": from EUR 470 with CF Joy, EUR 550 with CF Grace, EUR 900 with CF Blue, EUR 1,200 with CF Lilan, EUR 1,500 with CF Positano. The Capri tour,"The Island of Love": from EUR 550 with CF Joy up to EUR 1,900 with CF Positano. Sunrise and sunset trips: from EUR 500 with CF Blue, EUR 600 with CF Lilan, EUR 800 with CF Positano.
The site notes that the deposit is not included in the price but does not say how much it is: the one opaque line in an otherwise exemplary price list. On TripAdvisor the "Amalfi Coast Boat Rental" product was priced at USD 1,888 per group of up to five for seven hours — a long way from the direct price list, which tells you the sales channels are not aligned. Always compare both routes before booking.
The entire fleet was built between 2023 and 2026, which on this coast is the exception.
Booking and cancellation
You book through the site's own reservation system, using the "Search for boat" and "Rent now" buttons, or by phone on +39 333 3808288 and by email to info@ravello.top. The site is in English and Italian.
Cancellation terms are not published: the only source is the TripAdvisor product page, which gives a full refund beyond 24 hours and nothing inside 24 hours of departure. This is not a minor detail, because refund disputes over unused or cancelled days appear among the reviews. Get it in writing what happens in bad weather, in a breakdown, and if you simply change your mind.
What reviewers say
TripAdvisor showed 4.9 out of 5 from 270 reviews on the business listing and 5.0 out of 5 from 177 reviews on the "Amalfi Coast Boat Rental" product. We found no Google listing we could attribute with confidence.
The recurring praise: the owner, Francesca, is named again and again for fast, helpful replies and for help with planning; the skipper Marco is described as good company and a good photographer; the boats are called new and well equipped; guests appreciate the flexibility over swim stops and routes, and the value for money.
On the other side, a minority of reviews report disputes over refunds for unused or cancelled days, an attitude perceived as inflexible when something went wrong, quality problems with the scooters the company rents under the same brand, and unclear communication about terms, prices and timings. We report these as recurring themes in public reviews read, not as established facts.
Booking direct or through GetYourGuide
For licence-free self-drive the direct channel is more or less unavoidable, and here it is also the cheapest: the price list is published, and the gap against the price on the TripAdvisor product page is wide. The limitation of going direct is entirely contractual: an unquantified deposit and no published cancellation terms.
Platforms solve exactly that problem: on most products cancellation is free up to 24 hours before, the price is fixed in euros before you pay, support answers in your own language and you can often reserve now and pay later. From this stretch of coast, the Maiori boat tour with drinks and a swim is the closest product in area and format, while the private tour with prosecco and snorkelling leaves from Amalfi. To see what is bookable nearby there is the list of Maiori experiences.
Rule of thumb: if you are driving, book direct and get everything in writing; if you want a skipper and maximum protection, the platform costs a little more and earns it.
Atrani, Minori and Maiori: the stretch of coast this fleet covers best.
Alternatives
For licence-free rental the natural comparison is Amalfi Marine, which has thirty years behind it in Amalfi and far more reviews, but no published price list. If you would rather take a shared trip at a fixed price out of Salerno harbour, look at Blu Mediterraneo; at the crewed top end there is Amalfi Sails, which also boards at Maiori. Before choosing, read our boat rental page, the private tours page on when a skipper is worth paying for, and the guide to tours from Salerno if that is where you arrive.
