Start with the most useful thing on this page: at least three businesses on the Amalfi Coast trade under nearly identical names, and anyone searching for "Positano charter boat" stands a real chance of writing to the wrong one.
The first, the subject of this review, is Positano Charter, at positano-charter.com, based at Via Fornillo 40 in Positano. The second is Positano Boat Charter, at positanoboatcharter.com, whose legal name is Esposito Luigi, registered at Via Accola 10 in Maiori, VAT 06067520657, operating a Cherokee 50 Profilmarine yacht. The third is Positano Boat Charters and Hire, at positanoboatcharter.net, run by captain Daniele Bella with an eleven-metre Apreamare for thirteen passengers and an eight-seat gozzo. Three separate firms, three different phone numbers, three different Instagram handles. Before sending a deposit, check the exact domain and the phone number.
With that established: Positano Charter says it has been trading since 2000 and describes its owners as captains born and raised in Positano. It is a small business built entirely on direct contact with the guest.
Where they leave from and how to get there
The address is on Via Fornillo, the lane running down towards Fornillo beach, Positano's second beach, quieter than Spiaggia Grande and reachable on foot from the centre along the path below the tower. No fixed berth is published: private departures in Positano generally use the Spiaggia Grande jetties below the main stairway, or a tender straight off the Fornillo shore.
If you are driving, bear in mind that Positano is walked down and climbed back up: leave the car in the car parks on the main road and agree the exact meeting point with the captain the day before.

The fleet
The site shows four boats, all in Italian gozzo style, presented with some emphasis on their materials, quality wood and leather. Everything else is missing: models, lengths, engines and, above all, maximum passenger numbers appear nowhere.
What is stated is the on-board kit, and it is fuller than average for boats of this size: snorkelling gear, floats and pool noodles, life jackets, towels, a hot shower, a toilet, beer, prosecco, soft drinks, crisps and a Bluetooth speaker. A hot shower on a gozzo is not a given, and in September or October it makes a real difference.
Tours and prices
The five itineraries cover the useful range of durations. Sun Meets the Sea runs ninety minutes and is built around sunset; Embrace the Amalfi Coast is the four-hour half day; The Full Embrace of the Amalfi Coast is the seven-hour day; The Full CAPRI Experience reaches the island across eight hours; and the Nerano Dinner Experience is a four-hour evening trip with dinner in the bay. Extras listed include Dom Pérignon, engagement set-ups, local cakes and a photographer on board, all quoted on request.
On price, there is nothing. Not one itinerary carries a figure: the site works purely on a request-to-book basis and publishes no indicative rate at all. That absence matters, because it makes comparing this operator with the rest of Positano impossible without opening a negotiation.
