Who they are
Sea4Love Amalfi Coast is a small Salerno owner-operator built around its founder, Davide Izzo, who in the reviews is always the one at the helm. The picture that emerges from guests is of a nautical-institute graduate and former ship's officer who went into business for himself on this coast. No founding year is stated.
The registered address shown on the booking platform is in via Vittorio Veneto in Cava de' Tirreni, while the work itself happens on the water off Salerno. It is a technical distinction worth knowing if you go looking for the company in the registers, but it changes nothing for anyone booking a trip.
Where they leave from and how to get there
The main boarding point is the jetties below Piazza della Libertà, Salerno's big seafront square. It is very convenient by train: Salerno station is a walk along the main street, and Molo Manfredi with the cruise terminal sits in the same port area. On request the operator will pick up anywhere between Vietri sul Mare and Positano.
Leaving from Salerno has one advantage and one drawback. The advantage is logistical: no coast road, no buses, no hunting for parking. The drawback is nautical: Positano and Capri are further away than they are from Amalfi, so part of the day goes on the crossing. The RIB claws that time back; the gozzo much less so.
The jetties below Piazza della Libertà are walkable from Salerno station.
The fleet
Two craft, and they could hardly be more different. The first is a wooden gozzo built by Fratelli Aprea, the traditional boat of the Sorrento peninsula: slow, steady and ideal for a day built around stops and swims. The second is a Cayman Speedy 585, a rigid-hulled inflatable, the right choice when the point is covering distance - reaching Capri and getting back without spending the whole day in transit.
Capacity is capped at eight people including the skipper, falling to six on half-day trips. That is a low limit by local standards, and it explains why reviewers so often describe a boat that never feels crowded.
Tours and prices
The price list is published in full and always quoted per boat. Prices from the official website: full-day private Amalfi Coast tour 900 euro; full-day private Capri tour 1,300 euro; half day along the coast 700 euro; sunset tour 400 euro. Shared coast or Capri tours, evening events and a water-taxi service are arranged on request, with a six-person minimum for shared departures.
The timings are stated plainly: full days 09:30 to 17:00 or 17:30, half days 09:30 to 13:00 or 14:00 to 17:30, sunset trips from 19:30. The price includes an aperitif, snacks and limoncello, and children up to five travel free. Lunch, entry to the Emerald Grotto and mooring fees are excluded; at Capri the mooring runs to about a hundred euro.
Booking and cancellation
You book through the form on the website, by WhatsApp or phone, or by email, with a deposit of ten per cent; the operator also sells through the main booking platforms. The refund terms are published and detailed: the deposit is returned in full up to five days before; there is no refund from four days to one day out; a full refund applies if the operator cancels for adverse sea or weather, or if a shared tour does not reach its minimum; and there is no refund if you decline to go when conditions are judged safe. The platform listing, by contrast, sells the same trip with free cancellation up to 24 hours ahead.
What reviewers say
On TripAdvisor Sea4Love holds 5.0 out of 5 from 164 reviews and ranks first among 160 activities in Salerno. A Google listing showing 5.0 out of 5 from 66 reviews appears via Wanderlog, at the same date.
The recurring themes revolve around one person. Davide is described as hospitable, knowledgeable and quick to answer messages before departure; his nautical training comes up often as a reason for confidence, particularly from families. Then come the flexible itineraries, decided by the sea on the day, the small uncrowded boat, the wine, mozzarella and snacks served aboard, and the restaurant tips ashore. His handling of the boat is judged careful.
Criticisms are few and narrow: occasional mentions of choppy seas on windy days, and the recurring reminder that lunch and mooring fees are extra. The supplier page on the booking platform was not accessible when we checked.
The sunset trip, 400 euro per boat, is the entry point of the price list.
Booking direct or through GetYourGuide
With Sea4Love the direct channel makes particular sense, because the operator already publishes everything: prices, inclusions and exclusions, timings and refund rules. You talk to the owner, the route flexes, and the deposit is small.
The platform's advantage lies elsewhere.
